I love making mosaics, using any sort of materials, tiles, found objects, picce assiete style, or more traditional andamento (flow of tiles). Influences include anything ethnic, figurative or abstract. Some of my artwork has used famous paintings or particular artists I like as a starting point, such as Rousseau, or images from my sketchbook or photographs. I'm also available for commissions and previously worked on mosaic projects with schools and community groups. It's great to see lots of people working on their own mosaics at my weekly run mosaic classes too(createmosaic website). Having lived in London all my life, I find the energy and diversity constantly inspiring, although periodically rummage abroad for inspiration, most recently in South America . I continue to paint, and also enjoy working in watercolour, sketching on my travels for images I can use on my return to the studio. I also have a keen interest in exploring museums and galleries, enjoying what the past has to offer, especially mosaics at The British Museum in London!
